Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated MDS Consultant / Clinical Reimbursement Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and to optimize the clinical reimbursement process. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to gather essential patient information and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. Your expertise will be vital in developing care plans that reflect the individual needs of our residents, all while maximizing reimbursement and enhancing the overall quality of care provided.

Duties:

• Complete and submit MDS assessments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct regular quality checks on MDS documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Analyze patient data to recommend improvements in care plans and reimbursement processes.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and dietary teams to gather relevant information for MDS submissions.
• Stay updated with changes in federal and state regulations that affect MDS and reimbursement practices.
• Provide training and support to clinical staff on MDS-related processes and documentation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of reimbursement strategies that align with best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in MDS assessment and clinical reimbursement roles in Skilled Nursing Facility
• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement systems.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in MDS software and electronic health record systems / PCC (point click care).
• Must be willing to Travel to all areas covered.
