Medical Assistant Full TimeThe Medical Assistant Full Time role is an hourly, full-time position within our Medical Assistant department, supporting providers and clinical staff in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you will work directly with patients to prepare them for visits and procedures, accurately document clinical information, and assist with a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. You will be an essential member of the care team, helping to ensure smooth patient flow, timely communication, and adherence to clinical and safety standards. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, compassionate professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is committed to improving the patient experience.What You'll DoGreet and prepare patients for examinations, including verifying identity, taking vital signs, and documenting medical histories and chief complaintsAssist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments within the scope of a Medical Assistant and in accordance with clinic protocolsDocument patient information accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring completeness and confidentialityPerform basic clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, performing point-of-care tests, and conducting EKGs, as permitted by training and state regulationsMaintain exam rooms and clinical areas, including cleaning, stocking supplies, and ensuring equipment is in proper working orderCoordinate patient flow by preparing rooms, calling patients from the waiting area, and communicating wait times or delaysProvide patients with instructions regarding medications, treatments, tests, and follow-up appointments as directed by providersHandle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, processing referrals, and managing medical recordsAssist with medication reconciliation and verify patient allergies and current medications at each visitSupport infection prevention and safety protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and disposal of biohazardous materialsCollaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to support coordinated, efficient, and patient-focused careParticipate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives to maintain competencies and improve clinical processesComply with all organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and relevant state and federal healthcare regulationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferredCurrent Medical Assistant certification or registration (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) preferred; willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe if required by the employerCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification, or ability to obtain prior to or shortly after hirePrevious experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical healthcare setting preferred, but new graduates from accredited programs may be consideredWorking knowledge of basic clinical procedures, vital signs, and infection control practicesFamiliarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills, including data entry and emailStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and staffAbility to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentAttention to detail and accuracy in documentation, specimen labeling, and medication-related tasksPhysical ability to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms for extended periods, and to lift or move patients and equipment within reasonable limitsDemonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standardsProficiency in English, both written and verbal; additional language skills are a plusAs a physician-founded and led organization, ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare is what inspires us.
