HVAC Estimator

HVAC Estimator – Salary based on experience $85k to $150k

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents for HVAC projects 
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, equipment, controls, insulation, and related materials 
• Prepare accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates 
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors 
• Review bid proposals 
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs as required 
• Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and service personnel during project turnover 
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information 
• Assist with cost-saving recommendations 
• Support pricing of change orders and project revisions 
• Manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously 
• Maintain organized bid files and documentation 

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC estimating, mechanical construction, or related field preferred 
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls 
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents 
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills 
• Proficiency in Estimation software 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment 
• Excellent communication and time management skills 
• Experience with commercial HVAC projects 
• Knowledge of union and prevailing wage projects 
• Associate degree or technical training in HVAC, construction management, or engineering
