Forklift Operator

JOB Title: Forklift Operator Location: Wichita, KS 67219 Duration: 12-Month Contract (Possible Extension) Shift: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join a leading manufacturing team in Wichita, KS. This position is responsible for safely loading, unloading, transporting, and staging materials throughout the production facility while supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has experience operating multiple types of forklifts, working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities Safely load and unload materials from trucks using sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment. Transport materials to production areas and move finished products to designated locations. Perform routine equipment checks, including verifying oil levels, changing nozzles, checking filters, and reporting maintenance needs. Complete production and inventory documentation, including operator verification and product identification. Maintain a clean and organized work area by returning tools, fixtures, and equipment to proper storage locations. Support quality activities by assisting with measurements, testing, inspections, and recording production data. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing work instructions. Work effectively with team members and assist with training and operational support when needed. Adapt to changing production priorities while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Obtain and maintain required forklift, crane operator, and LPI certifications. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. 2–4 years of material handling experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience operating: Sit-down forklifts, Stand-up forklifts, Electric forklifts, Propane forklifts, Reach trucks Basic computer and keyboarding skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. U.S. Citizenship or Canadian Citizenship is required. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, and twist throughout the shift. Lift up to 25 pounds frequently (approximately 70% of the workday). Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, grease, oil, and moving equipment. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat, and other protective equipment as required. Preferred Skills Previous manufacturing or industrial warehouse experience. Experience working with production documentation and inventory systems.
