The Role:

• Work Model: Hybrid
• Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Travel Requirements: Minimal travel
• Supervisory Responsibilities: None
• Reports to : Director, Operations or Manager, Operations
• Pay Range: $60,000 - $70,000 Depending on experience

Summary / Primary Role:

The Logistics Account Specialist I (LAS I) is responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned customer accounts and domestic shipments from initial tender through final delivery. This role serves as a key point of contact for customers and logistics service providers, proactively managing shipment activity, resolving service issues, and ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the transportation process.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage assigned accounts and maintain strong working relationships with clients, carriers, and Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).
• Coordinate and monitor empty and loaded domestic shipments from tender through final delivery.
• Proactively identify and resolve pickup, delivery, and in-transit exceptions, including delays, mechanical issues, and lost shipments.
• Develop service recovery solutions and communicate timely updates and alternative options to customers when service disruptions occur.
• Serve as a primary liaison between clients and carriers to resolve delivery delays and other shipment-related concerns.
• Investigate shipment exceptions and accurately document pickup, delivery, and tracking updates in the appropriate systems.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for expedite tracking information for assigned client teams.
• Prioritize multiple requests and tasks while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
• Participate in client meetings and business reviews as needed.
• Support the development of procedures and training documentation and assist with training team members as needed.
• Partner with Logistics Operations leadership to meet Odyssey service standards and applicable client Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Collaborate with IT regarding system enhancements and upgrades when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, service levels, and operational performance.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow established safety practices.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned .

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar role required.
• Experience coordinating door-to-door shipments using rail and trucking providers preferred.
• Working knowledge of transportation terminology, documentation, processes, and principles.
• Strong customer service, organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Strong analytical skills and sound judgment when resolving operational issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing operational needs.
• Self-motivated and capable of working effectively with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain timely, complete, and accurate records.
• Professional and courteous communication style when interacting with clients, vendors, visitors, and colleagues.
• Willingness and ability to work occasional weekends or after-hours as business needs require.
• Knowledge of general transportation rules and regulations is a plus.
• Ability to identify and support process and performance improvements.
