Job Title: Buyer Job Description
A buyer is responsible for providing administrative and purchasing support to the department and product managers with the daily operations of procuring material and managing inventory.
Responsibilities

• Obtain quotes from mills, suppliers, and service subcontractors.
• Assist with negotiating pricing of materials and services, excluding new vendor setup negotiations.
• Review and adjust the status of incoming purchases.
• Assist internal and external customers with questions.
• Prepare and process quotes and purchase orders.
• Resolve discrepancies in goods and services.
• Receive material and process inventory requests.
• Update pricing pages.

Essential Skills

• Experience in supply chain, procurement, and purchasing.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in SAP and ERP systems.
• Ability to work with pivot tables.
• Experience in vendor management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience processing purchase orders.
• Experience with steel or other metal alloys is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment
Join a team in the largest metals service center company in North America, serving a diverse range of industries such as space, aerospace, defense, and medical. Work with over 1500 product codes made from various alloys. The role is 100% onsite with hours from 8 to 5, and minimal overtime. The team currently consists of two other buyers and reports to the purchasing manager. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Fe Springs, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
