Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Medical Acute Care Unit serving a general medical patient population
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5/6 on night shift in collaboration with Patient Care Technicians
• Monitor patients on telemetry as needed; bedside RNs are not required to read strips as a central monitoring station is available
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and PCT staff available 24 hours per day
• Float to other units as needed per hospital rotation policy
• Adhere to every-other-weekend and holiday scheduling requirements (3 of 6 required holidays per year)

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• General Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Must be able to comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a general medical/surgical travel or contract nursing role
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
• Experience working in units with PCT support and centralized monitoring
