Medical Director – PsychiatristA mission-driven behavioral health organization in Vermont is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for its community-based mental health and substance use programs.This is a full-time permanent direct hire position offering the opportunity to combine leadership responsibilities with direct patient care within a collaborative, patient-centered behavioral health environment.Position OverviewThe Medical Director will provide psychiatric leadership, clinical oversight, and direct patient care across behavioral health programs serving individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.This role partners closely with executive leadership to support evidence-based treatment initiatives, strengthen clinical programming, and ensure high standards of psychiatric care throughout the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and supervision to psychiatrists, medical staff, and contracted providersDeliver direct psychiatric services including evaluations, medication management, and treatment planningSupport and oversee medication-assisted treatment and substance use servicesAssist with development and implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and psychiatric programmingParticipate in quality assurance, peer review, utilization review, and risk management initiativesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient careProvide consultation and guidance to clinical staff regarding psychiatric treatment best practicesEnsure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and documentation requirementsParticipate in leadership meetings and organizational planning initiativesBuild collaborative relationships with healthcare providers and community partnersParticipate in on-call coverage as neededQualificationsMD or DO degree requiredCompletion of an accredited Psychiatry residency programBoard Certified or Board Eligible in PsychiatryMinimum of 3 years of Psychiatry experience preferredPrior community mental health experience strongly preferredExperience treating patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders requiredEligible for unrestricted Vermont medical licensureDEA eligibility requiredStrong leadership, communication, and collaboration skillsExperience with EMR systems and telehealth platforms preferredCompensation & BenefitsSalary up to $325,000 annuallyComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer matchFlexible scheduling optionsPaid time offTuition reimbursementProfessional development assistanceEmployee assistance programThis is an outstanding opportunity to join a collaborative organization dedicated to improving access to compassionate, community-focused behavioral healthcare while enjoying the exceptional quality of life Vermont has to offer.For more information please send your resume directly to View email address on click.appcast.io or call/text me at View phone number on click.appcast.io.
