Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Memory Care Activity Director to lead our memory care activities program. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating activities designed to meet the social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs of our residents. Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate the memory care activities program, ensuring that it meets the assessed needs of each resident

• Plan and coordinate activities, including recreational, educational, cultural, and arts and crafts programs

• Collaborate with the care team to develop resident goals and objectives, and contribute to the comprehensive care plan

• Ensure resident safety during activities and maintain a culture of compliance with facility policies and procedures

• Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling, budgeting, and supervising staff

• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

• Maintain accurate records and reports, including MDS reports and progress notes

• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure smooth program execution

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• 2+ years of experience in a social or recreational program, with a focus on older adults

• Certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional (or eligible for certification)

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

• CPR licensed and trained in first aid

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

• Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
