Contract | Days | 3×12-hour shifts (7:00-19:30) | 4×12 scheduling may be considered | Extensions beyond 14 weeks may be considered

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients in a 6-bed PICU setting, managing diagnoses such as respiratory distress/failure, DKA, seizures, pain management, and sepsis
• Manage patients requiring moderate sedation, continuous drips, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines
• Care for ventilated pediatric patients and manage acute airways, including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and chest tube management
• Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ABG interpretation, and ICP monitoring
• Administer anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and calculate pediatric dosages accurately
• Float to Pediatrics and Pediatric ED as needed, within scope of practice

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Basic EKG exam required
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records required
• Experience with ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP required
• Local candidates are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a pediatric or critical care setting
• Familiarity with ICP monitoring and advanced pediatric airway management
• Experience with complex multi-system pediatric patients across infant through adolescent age ranges
