Director, Clinical Data Management

Location: Seattle, WA Preferred | New Jersey Considered

A rapidly growing clinical-stage biotechnology company is seeking a Director of Clinical Data Management to lead and scale its Data Management function.

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Data Science, this individual will oversee an existing team while helping build a larger Clinical Data Management organization to support expanding clinical development programs.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate enjoys building teams, developing people, and rolling up their sleeves when needed in a fast-paced biotech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop Clinical Data Management personnel
• Scale the Data Management function through active hiring and team development
• Provide oversight of clinical trial data management activities from study startup through database lock
• Manage CRO and vendor relationships
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with industry standards
• Partner closely with Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Statistical Programming, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory teams
• Drive process improvements and establish best practices across the organization
• Support inspection readiness and regulatory compliance initiatives

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Clinical Data Management experience within biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO environments
• Previous leadership and people management experience
• Strong understanding of EDC systems, data review, query management, and database lock processes
• Experience overseeing CROs and external vendors
• Proven ability to manage multiple clinical studies simultaneously
• Experience building and scaling teams in a growing organization preferred
• Oncology, hematology, immunology, or rare disease experience highly desirable
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills
