Location: Floating position covering locations in Napa, CA Schedule: 6AM to 6PM M-F. Shift will be 8 hours but depending on reporting location may need to start as early as 6AM or end as late as 6PM Job code: CVDJP00034445 Pay range: $23.16–$25.16 Benefits are available Pediatric & geriatric experience required Summary The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training and making workflow recommendations. Responsibilities Perform blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection to patients in a clear and courteous manner. Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order, and check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correctness. Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples according to required temperature, placing samples in appropriate collection container/tube, and accurately labeling. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, attend annual department trainings, and answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Minimum Qualifications Valid Phlebotomy certification in the state of employment. Minimum of 6 months of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year of experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
