Job Description
The Office of Student Conduct is seeking a part‑time Program Educator (Letter of Appointment; 19 hours/week) to support its educational and administrative operations. The Program Educator supports the university’s student conduct and wellness initiatives by delivering educational interventions to undergraduate and graduate students found responsible for violating policies outlined in the Student Code of Conduct. This role blends direct student engagement, program facilitation, assessment, and administrative support to strengthen student success, retention, and well‑being.
The Program Educator primarily implements the BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening Intervention for College Students), CASICS (Cannabis Screening Intervention for College Students), SHIFT (Student High Risk Intervention for First-Time Alcohol Violations), and Decision‑Making and Accountability Workshop while providing a supportive, educational environment that encourages reflection, responsibility, and personal growth.
Responsibilities
Student Intervention & Support:
Facilitate BASICS, CASICS, SHIFT, and the Decision‑Making and Accountability Workshop in one‑on‑one settings.
Engage students in reflective conversations that promote harm reduction, accountability, and informed decision‑making.
Provide timely feedback to the Assistant Dean of Student Conduct and the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor regarding students who may need additional services, including mental health support, sexual assault resources, substance use services, academic assistance, or help with housing and food insecurity.
Research & Outreach:
Conduct research and analysis, as assigned, to support the ongoing development and improvement of programs and operations within the Office of Student Conduct.
Support the planning and implementation of outreach initiatives and represent the Office of Student Conduct at campus outreach events, as assigned.
Assist in creating or updating flyers, digital content, and informational materials for outreach efforts.
Administrative & Departmental Support:
Provide administrative support to the Administrative Assistant III, including opening and closing case files, scanning documents, and maintaining organized and accurate records.
Provide reception support by staffing the front desk and answering multi‑line phone calls, ensuring professional and timely service to students, faculty, and staff.
Assist with additional office tasks, including grading student essays, and routine administrative functions that contribute to efficient and effective departmental operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in clerical support, customer service, or a related administrative role.
At least one (1) year of experience delivering educational content, curriculum, or facilitating learning in individual or group settings.
Proficient in the use of standard office equipment, including computers, scanners, multi‑line phone systems, and copiers.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Capacity to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
Aptitude for following written and verbal instructions and completing accurate documentation, case notes, and reports.
Commitment to maintaining professional confidentiality and following privacy protocols, including FERPA and Title IX.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including effective interpersonal interactions, active listening, and empathy when engaging with individuals in a professional setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building rapport with college‑age students from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
Demonstrated success supporting students experiencing mental health concerns, sexual assault, substance use issues, academic challenges, and basic‑needs insecurity.
Skill in working independently, contributing to collaborative team projects, and adapting effectively to changing priorities.
Ability to assess student needs, identify risks, ask clarifying questions, and make informed recommendations.
Capacity to master new systems or processes quickly, actively seek feedback, and adjust workflows to meet evolving student needs.
Schedule
This position is 19 hours per week; Monday–Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; scheduled hours may be adjusted depending on organizational needs.
