Position Summary:

The Assistant Food Service Supervisor supports the daily operations of the food service department by assisting with staff supervision, food quality, customer service, and regulatory compliance. This role helps ensure efficient operations while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in supervising daily food service operations to ensure efficient workflow
• Support staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Monitor food preparation and presentation to maintain quality standards
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
• Assist with inventory control, supply ordering, and minimizing food waste
• Ensure proper cash handling and register procedures are followed, when applicable
• Lead daily operations and supervise staff in the Food Service Supervisor's absence
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and service areas
• Assist with onboarding, training, and coaching new team members
• Promote teamwork, excellent customer service, and adherence to company policies
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant, cafeteria, or hospitality operations required
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations (ServSafe certification is a plus)
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Experience with inventory management and food cost control preferred
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with food service operations
