About Us Rebuilding Together New Orleans is a community revitalization nonprofit focused on rebuilding the homes and lives of New Orleans homeowners. RTNO has quickly grown into one of the largest home rehabilitation non-profit organizations in New Orleans. By focusing our program in target neighborhoods, RTNO meets the needs of the communities we serve quickly and efficiently by leveraging corporate, private and public dollars, and volunteer labor. We are currently focused on meeting the growing need to make homes safer through aging in place repairs, energy-efficiency upgrades and exterior repairs. These repairs strengthen neighborhoods by allowing low-income homeowners to stay in their longtime homes as they age, inhibiting blight from spreading and keeping invested homeowners in place. We believe that everyone has the right to live in a safe and healthy house, and have been working towards this mission since 1988. Anticipated start date: ASAP Position Title Construction Manager {Bayou Region} Position: Full Time Reports to: Director of Construction Summary This person will be responsible for ensuring construction projects for low-income homeowners are completed in a cost-efficient and timely manner for both volunteer and federally funded projects. Duties include performing technical evaluations of houses and creating project development documents including work scopes, budgets, and specifications. Project management duties include coordinating and inspecting improvements, developing material and supply lists, developing partnerships with vendors, and providing support to both skilled and unskilled volunteers. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating large scale volunteer projects. This position will support projects in our Bayou and River Parish footprint. The ideal candidate is based in either of these areas or willing to drive (company vehicle) from New Orleans to inspect and manage projects at least once a week (or more as needed). Core Responsibilities Manage in-house and Community Development Block Grant construction projects: Perform technical evaluations on residential buildings Create proposed work scopes and budgets Create specifications and contracts for professional service repairs Construction project supervision: ensure that projects are built in accordance to specifications and building codes Manage contractors and subcontractors Assist in the pulling and staging of materials and supplies Coordinate weekly logistics: Work with Director of Construction, Executive Director, and Field Operation Coordinators to develop weekly schedule Plan ahead to ensure staff members and volunteers have appropriate work each week Provide feedback to ensure the construction process is efficient and volunteer tasks are worthwhile Coordinate large scale volunteer builds: Create a prep schedule to ensure goals that are set by DOC are met for build days Act as a point of contact for volunteer teams when construction or technical questions arise Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and work experience) Construction experience as a handyperson, construction manager or project manager Ability to problem solve and be flexible in a dynamic work environment Lead Safe EPA RRP Lead Safe Renovator Certification encouraged Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance Ability to work independently with limited supervision Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Computer skills within a Windows environment Excellent organization skills, ability to work on multiple tasks Ability to lift 60 lbs Benefits $42k-$47k salary range 18 paid days off 18 paid holidays Health insurance 75% employer paid after probationary period 2% contribution to IRA after 1 year of employment #J-18808-Ljbffr Together New Orleans, Inc.
