About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 1 year of Critical Care experience License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and 6 hours of Critical Care CEUs per year Must-Have: - Critical Care experience - Ability to respond to code blues and code grays - Ability to assist with bedside procedures Description: Responsible for the assessment of critically ill patients. Duties include caring for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, central lines, arterial lines, and telemetry monitoring. The nurse must be able to respond to code emergencies, assisting the provider during these critical times. The nurse may have a mixed acuity patient assignment. There is a combination of paper and computer charting along with an electronic medication administration record. The nurse will not work alone and call is not required. Weekend rotation is required every other weekend, along with possible participation in holiday rotations. The nurse may be floated to other departments such as Med Surg or the ER but will not be expected to take an assignment when floating. The unit has 6 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is based on patient acuity, with at least 2 RNs on any given shift. Dress code is scrubs.
