We are looking for a reliable Tree Trimmer & Groundman to support our hazardous tree removal operations along the George Washington Memorial Parkway. This role is critical to the safety and efficiency of the job site, responsible for managing rigging ropes, processing heavy timber on the ground, operating the wood chipper, and maintaining a clear, hazard-free work zone. Must be comfortable working in high-visibility areas with strict environmental adherence and potential traffic-control coordination.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Rigging Support: Assist the climber/arborist by managing lowering lines, friction devices (Port-A-Wraps), and tagline operations to safely guide heavy limbs to the ground.
- Ground Operations: Use chainsaws to cut down, delimb, and buck large logs into manageable sections.
- Debris Processing: Feed branches into commercial wood chippers and load heavy logs and debris onto trucks for hauling.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work zone to prevent slips, trips, and falls, and assist with traffic/pedestrian control signaling.
- Equipment Care: Perform daily maintenance on chainsaws and ground equipment (sharpening chains, checking fluids, cleaning filters).
Required Certifications & Qualifications
- Safety Credentials: OSHA 10-Hour card or TCIA (Tree Care Industry Association) Ground Operations specialist credential highly preferred.
- Chainsaw Safety: Certified or verified training in safe chainsaw operation and maintenance.
- Licensing: Valid Driver's License (CDL Class B is a major plus for driving chip trucks).
- First Aid: First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in commercial tree care or land clearing operations.
