Pathology Physician - 

Location: Syracuse, New York
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pathology Physician to join a well-established pathology department in Syracuse, NY. The physician will provide comprehensive anatomic and clinical pathology services, collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams, and ensure accurate and timely diagnostic interpretation of surgical pathology, cytology, and laboratory specimens.

• Interpret surgical pathology, cytopathology, and clinical pathology specimens.
• Perform gross examination of surgical specimens as needed.
• Review and sign out pathology reports with a high degree of accuracy.
• Participate in frozen section interpretation and intraoperative consultations.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and laboratory personnel to support patient care.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical conferences.
• Supervise pathology assistants, residents, and laboratory staff when applicable.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical documentation in the electronic medical record.

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) by the American Board of Pathology.
• Eligible for or possess an active New York medical license.
• Fellowship training in a pathology subspecialty is preferred but not required.
• Strong diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills.
