Shift Details

This position offers a night shift with 3x12-hour schedules from 19:00 to 07:30. Travelers are welcome for either 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts. Weekend work is required, averaging every other weekend.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Experience: 1 Year
Licensure: NC or Compact License required
Certifications:
- BLS
- PALS
Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
Experience with Patient Ratios: 2:1
Charting System: Experience with Epic preferred
Community Hospital Experience: Preferred
Specialized Experience:
- LTAC
- Trauma Level I and II

Skills Needed

End-Tidal CO2 Monitoring
Accessing/Managing Ports
Acute/Chronic Renal Failure Management
Administration of Blood & Blood Products
Administration of Chemotherapy
Management of Anti-Seizure Medications
Administration of Antiarrhythmics
BiPAP/CPAP Management
Care for Ventilated Patients
Central Line/Implanted Line Care
PICC Line Management
Ventilator Management
Tracheostomy Care
Experience with Pediatric Critical Care
Telemetry Monitoring

Unit Details

This role is situated in a unit that serves a diverse patient demographic, including neonates, adolescents, infants, and pediatric patients, with a daily census of 24 and a total of 24 beds available.

Clinical Team Support

Support from an interdisciplinary team is available, including:

IV Teams
Physical Therapy
Respiratory Services
Interpretation Services
Phlebotomy
Radiology
Social Services
Rapid Response Teams
Pharmacy

Patient Population

Common diagnoses within the unit include:

Complex Congenital Heart Disease
Heart Failure (Pre/Post-Transplant)
Cardiac Arrhythmias

Orientation Details

Orientations are conducted bi-weekly; candidates should be prepared for a comprehensive onboarding process.

Attendance Policy

Travelers may have up to three absences during a 13-week contract period. Attendance will be monitored closely, and excessive absences may lead to contractual review.
