Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Equine Veterinarian to join our team at Manor Equine Hospital. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high‑quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director. Manor Equine Hospital in Monkton, Maryland is a progressive equine practice that delivers medical and surgical care to a diverse clientele, including performance, ranch, and pleasure horses. Candidates with interests in sports medicine, reproduction, internal medicine, or surgery will have opportunities to develop and grow those skills within our practice. The position requires participation in a shared on‑call rotation. What We Offer Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid Parental Leave (birth, adoption, foster) 401(k) with discretionary contribution Team Member Pet Discounts Emotional wellbeing support — including Calm app access and 24/7 EAP CE stipends and career development resources Grant Circle — a relief fund for team members facing personal hardship Local hospital culture backed by national resources Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Communicate with clients and provide education Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries Maintain accurate medical records Carry out pharmacy duties, including prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for the daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge Monitor cases and attend daily rounds to uphold high standards Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university Current State Veterinary License DEA registration obtained and maintained Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care Client communication skills: ability to elicit information, establish rapport, and offer clear explanations to pet owners Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed, ill, or painful pets Willingness to perform some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Ability to perform moderately physically demanding work and lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Clinical proficiency in veterinary examinations (cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, etc.) and treatment prescription Problem‑solving skills to address challenges in high‑quality veterinary hospital management Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism in providing constructive feedback and seeking suggestions Business acumen related to management and finances of the veterinary practice Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions Commitment to continuing education and fostering learning among colleagues Pay Range $100,000 — $120,000 USD Equal Opportunity Employer PetVet is an equal opportunity employer.
