Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS Telemetry) nurse for a location in Burlington, Massachusetts. This position involves working in a 7-central unit that encompasses orthopedics, neurological, trauma, and multispecialty services. The role requires a nurse with strong Epic electronic medical record experience, prior level 1 trauma experience, and current Massachusetts nursing licensure. The shift is 12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required, and the candidate must have a minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts nursing license, minimum of 2 years of experience in medical surgical or telemetry nursing, Epic electronic medical record experience, BLS American Heart Association, ACLS American Heart Association, level 1 trauma experience, and at least 6 months separation from BILH for all employment types (permanent, per diem, contract).
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience preferred.
• Additional Information:
  • Day one pass/fail testing will be administered.
  • Relias practice tests will be accessible.
  • Experience with complex medical patients including orthopedics, neuro, trauma, and specialized precautions such as hip and CSpine.
  • Skills in operating ceiling lifts, hoyer lifts, lumex, PCAs, CADD pumps, and peripheral nerve catheters.
  • Ability to manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, and perform breathing treatments independently.
  • May float to medical-surgical inpatient units and emergency department as needed.
  • The unit has a 4-6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio during day shifts and 5-6:1 during night shifts.
  • The patient population includes trauma, neuro, orthopedic, complex medical, and neurosurgical patients with various precautions and device requirements.
  • Candidate interaction with students and new hires is expected to foster a supportive environment.
