The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs industrial processing equipment to support safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations in a food and beverage manufacturing environment. This role performs troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of systems, including pumps, conveyors, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, boilers, and spray drying equipment. The position requires the ability to work all shifts, collaborate with other mechanics to cover shift needs, and work independently while following technical documentation and safety procedures.

• Perform preventive maintenance on industrial processing equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on pumps, conveyors, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, boilers, and spray drying equipment to restore proper operation.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures using strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and appropriate tools.
• Maintain and repair steam systems and boiler equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and equipment manuals to plan and execute maintenance and repair tasks.
• Fabricate and modify mechanical components as needed to improve equipment performance or replace worn parts.
• Perform welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, Arc, and sanitary welding, to repair or install mechanical components.
• Use basic electrical knowledge to assist with troubleshooting electrical controls associated with mechanical systems.
• Document maintenance activities using basic computer skills to ensure accurate records of work performed.
• Collaborate with other mechanics to coordinate coverage across all shifts and support team-based problem solving.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments regarding equipment status, repair needs, and safety concerns.
• Operate forklifts safely when moving equipment, materials, or components as part of maintenance activities.
• Follow all safety procedures while working around moving mechanical equipment, steam systems, and industrial processing areas.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching throughout the shift.
• Lift up to 60 pounds occasionally while handling tools, parts, and equipment components.
• Work in indoor plant areas and occasionally in outdoor or elevated locations to access equipment and systems.
• Support continuous plant operations by responding to equipment issues during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Industrial Maintenance Certificate or equivalent mechanical maintenance experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience maintaining industrial or food processing equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills for complex processing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Welding skills including MIG, TIG, Arc, and sanitary welding.
• Ability to fabricate and modify mechanical components to meet operational needs.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, bearings, seals, and conveyors.
• Basic knowledge of electrical controls and electrical troubleshooting related to mechanical systems.
• Forklift certification and ability to operate forklifts safely.
• Ability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work well independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation and record keeping.
• Good communication skills to coordinate work and report equipment status.

• Experience working with steam systems and boilers.
• Experience in food and beverage manufacturing environments.
• Comfort working around spray drying equipment and related processing systems.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a continuous production setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety and reliability.

The role is based in a food and beverage manufacturing facility that operates continuously, requiring availability for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will work around moving mechanical equipment, noise, heat, steam systems, and industrial processing areas, including spray drying equipment. The position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching, as well as occasionally working in outdoor areas and at elevated heights. You must be able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally and operate forklifts safely as part of daily tasks. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with a strong emphasis on equipment safety, cleanliness, and adherence to plant procedures.

This is a Contract position based out of Lemoore, CA.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
