Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a Temp to Hire Shipping and Receiving Associate with current reach truck experience in Eldersburg MD. This position does require heavy lifting as well.

Background and drug screen required.

Recruiting Profile

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking an expert Material Handler to join our TEAM! As a Material Handler III, we need someone that is ready to operate a reach truck and sit-down forklift.

Primary Objective

• Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to packing station or shipping area.
• Major Function and Scope
• Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area
• Operates order picker equipment or stand-up forklift to assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.
• Utilizes warehouse systems such as Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy.
• Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping area.
• Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
• Follows standard operating and safety procedures.
• Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Experience and Knowledge Required
• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• 3 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience. Must have a minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience.

• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

Other Pertinent Job Information

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required wear personal protective equipment, to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance.
• The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• The average number of picks per hour is 25 and the average weight is between 40-70 lbs with heavier picks (50-70 lbs) being 65% of the work shift and lighter weight items (20-40 lbs) being 35% of the work shift.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
