Sterile Processing Tech
Schedule: 5x8 Evening shifts
Requirements:
- Required certifications: CBSPD or IAHCSMM
- Minimum experience: 2 years in an acute hospital setting
- Core clinical skills:
- Sterilization processes: steam sterilization, IUSS, HLD
- Biological and chemical indicator testing and monitoring
- Sets/trays assembly and sterilization wrapping procedures
- Use/maintenance of washers and sterilizers
- Equipment documentation and handling (e.g., crash carts, pumps)
- Experience with OR case specialties: neuro/crani, ortho/total joints, neurology
- Familiarity with Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM)
Compliance / Notes:
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Pre-approved time off: 1 (per contract)
- References: 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required during compliance process
- Pre-start modules: Required; average ~16 hours non-billable (over 20 hours requires PM approval)
- Modules completed pre-start and annually; completion recorded in Workramp transcripts
