Job Summary

The Trend & Change Manager leads the early-warning, trend and formal change control process for the major capital project. The role provides complete traceability from initial deviation through Project Deviation Notice assessment, governance, approval and incorporation into the project budget, forecast, schedule, risk and contingency positions.

Job Description

• Develop and maintain the Trend and Change Management Plan in accordance with client work instructions and approved governance requirements.
• Administer the Trend Register and lead early identification of potential scope, cost, schedule, procurement, construction and readiness impacts.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary assessments of trends and deviations, including cost estimates, schedule impact analyses, risk exposure and funding implications.
• Manage formal change workflows, supporting documentation, approval routing, commercial records and complete audit trails.
• Apply approved root-cause classifications and analyze recurring change drivers, aging, approval cycle time and cumulative exposure.
• Coordinate contingency and funding-source evaluations and ensure approved changes are incorporated into budgets, forecasts, schedules, risk registers and cash flow.
• Prepare change dashboards, decision registers and executive summaries for project governance and approval forums.
• Coordinate with the Risk Manager and other Project Controls leads to maintain consistent linkage among the Risk Register, Trend Register, Change Log and controlled baseline.

Skills Required

• Minimum 15 years of relevant project controls, change management, commercial management, cost engineering or major capital-project experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing trends, change notices, impact assessments, contractor change submissions and formal approval workflows.
• Strong knowledge of cost, schedule, risk, estimating, contracts, contingency and baseline-control interfaces.
• Experience coordinating cost estimates and schedule Time Impact Analyses for complex project changes.
• Ability to maintain complete auditability and communicate cumulative exposure and decision requirements to executive stakeholders.
• Strong facilitation, negotiation, written communication and governance discipline.
• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences or other regulated manufacturing capital-project experience preferred.
• Owner’s Representative, PMC, EPCM or IPMT delivery experience on projects exceeding $500 million TIC preferred.
• Experience with Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran Risk, Acumen Risk, EcoSys, change management system, Power BI or comparable platforms preferred.
• Professional certification such as PMI-RMP, AACE DRMP, PMP, CCP, PSP or equivalent.
• Experience supporting stage-gate and capital-funding or comparable stage-gate and capital-funding governance preferred.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, quantity surveying, business, finance or a related discipline.
