Research Associate - Lab of Dr. Luis Sigal

Research Associate
The research associate carries out experiments as part of a team of bio-medical researchers to investigate the molecular mechanisms mediating diseases. They will also record and analyze experimental results and collaborate effectively with other team members.
Job Description
- Maintains a lab database of technical and animal protocols, plasmids, antibodies and other key resources. Keeps accurate records of reagents.
- Troubleshoots experimental design malfunctions and implements solutions, interfaces directly with equipment manufacturers for adjustments and repairs.
- Instructs research personnel on specialized techniques and complex protocols; coordinates and participates in intra-collegial presentations and meetings. Trains and mentors research personnel.
- Analyzes results of experiments independently.
- Develops scientific hypotheses related to ongoing work in the laboratory.
Position Requirements / Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated academic and/or hands-on experience in viral immunology and vaccine research
- Extensive experience working with murine (mouse) models, including handling and in vivo experimental procedures
- Strong understanding of immunological assays and experimental design in infectious disease or related fields
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on experimental needs, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends/holidays
Education:
Ph.D. or M.D. Required.
