After initial training in-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated entry level Underwriting professional to join our team. The position requires the person to:Comprehend knowledge of our insurance products (coverages, rules, and rating) and book transfer procedures.Regular travel throughout the assigned territory to call on agents to write and inspect business (as needed), prepare proposals, and coordinate policy insurance through our branch underwriting office.Assist agents as needed with book transfer business.Regular and predictable attendance in meeting a defined work schedule.Make group presentations on Company products and services.Assist with other duties in the department or elsewhere on request.Desired Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceAppropriate underwriting experience is preferredAbility to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independentlyAbove average communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to resolve complex issuesAn interest in developing product knowledge through participation in approved educational programsBenefitsAuto-Owners offers a wide range of career opportunities, and we are seeking talent that will help us continue our long tradition of success.
