Job Overview Maintenance Worker II – Grounds in the Facilities Management department at Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital, responsible for groundskeeping, landscaping, parking areas, irrigation systems, and related equipment. The role may include learning general building maintenance skills in a healthcare setting. Schedule Monday–Friday, 7:00a.m. – 3:30p.m. Full-time. On‑call rotating shifts every third week (October–May) for snow removal. Essential Functions The employee maintains the appearance, condition, and safety of facility grounds, landscaping, parking areas, irrigation systems, and related equipment to meet seasonal needs. Assignments include planting, fertilizing, clipping, pruning, mowing, blowing, weeding, shoveling snow, plowing, irrigation monitoring, and applying chemical control products. Demonstrates knowledge of landscape maintenance, including irrigation systems, and the use of insecticides and herbicides on turf, trees, and flowerbeds. Demonstrated ability in the skills listed above. Willingness to work hard and learn. A valid driver’s license may be required. Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, and equipment; assess customer needs. Frequent customer interaction requires communication, understanding spoken information, and responding accurately. Manual dexterity for manipulating complex equipment, often with computer, phone, or cable set‑up. Ability to lift, pull, push, and transport equipment and supplies, including heavy items. Work on hands and knees, bend to set up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies. Driving requires safe vehicle operation, reading signs, and traffic signals. Use of hand and power tools, hearing and eye protection. Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, confined spaces, odors, and smells. Location Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital, Riverton, Utah.
