This position performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures and required. This position is also responsible for general Medical Assistant duties in conjunction with radiographic procedures and responsibilities. Duties to include maintaining supplies, providing direct patient care, and filling in and acting as the Customer Service Representative which may include scheduling and filing. This position is responsible for answering the phone appropriately, handling phone calls, and or directing appropriately. Must be flexible as needs arise and possess willingness to acquire new or perform different skills while adapting to a changing environment. May be asked from time to time to float to hospital.

Job Requirements: Knowledge of / Skill / Ability to:

• Shall have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of general diagnostic radiography to include surgical, portable, and routine fluoroscopic studies.
• Must have appropriate oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and exercise independent judgment as needed.
• Must be able to handle fast-paced, stressful environment while juggling multiple priorities.

License/Certification:

• Must have ARRT Registration and Certification; must possess a current Oregon State Radiologic Technologist License.
• Current BLS required through the American Heart Association.

Education and / or Experience:

• Must maintain continuing education requirements as specified by the State of Oregon and ARRT
• Experience: Preferably experience in an acute care setting, and with direct patient care in a clinic setting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance:

• Must be in generally good health with the ability to use mobile radiographic equipment as needed for patient care; must be able to transport patients as appropriate as well as assist in patient transfers and the lifting as needed.
• Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work is fast-paced, and a changing environment. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and possess verbal and clerical skills.
• Works inside. Walking and standing much of the time while on duty. Occasional long shifts necessary.
