Head of US Strategic Initiatives and Operations

AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca seeks a Head of US Strategic Initiatives and Operations to lead cross-functional market access projects and strategic initiatives. This Boston-based role reports to the VP of US Value and Access and oversees portfolio impact modeling, governance, budget management, and organizational alignment across internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

Create executive narratives and recommendations for senior leadership alignment on key priorities
Lead task forces on strategic initiatives including AI, launch operations, and business reviews
Model impact of market dynamics and environmental shifts on medicine portfolio
Serve as market access lead for cross-functional initiatives with sales, patient services, and other teams
Manage market access budget, governance processes, and annual operating plan development

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field
10+ years of biotech or pharma company experience
Ability to analyze complex quantitative and qualitative business proposals
Strong knowledge of US healthcare regulations and policies
Demonstrated ability to communicate data-driven recommendations to senior leadership
Market access landscape expertise and organizational knowledge
Project management experience and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills
