Job Description:
The Communications Specialist assists in building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between Intermountain Health and its key internal and external stakeholders through the consistent use of best- practice communication tools. The incumbent helps research, plan, produce, coordinate, and effectively communicate key messages, initiatives, policies, programs, and other activities of Intermountain Health to various audiences.
- The following states are currently paused for sourcing new candidates or for new relocation requests for current caregivers:California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, Washington.
3 years of writing, interviewing and editing is preferred.
Essential Functions
Plans, researches, writes, edits, proofreads, produces, and distributes various communications (e.g., print, digital) for both internal and external audiences. Achieves desired results on time and under budget.
Evaluates and measures communications, keeps pace with technology, uses creativity, and maintains technical accuracy to ensure quality and effectiveness of deliverables and messages.
Works with key stakeholders and team leaders to execute strategic planning activities for the department and for individual projects.
Serves as an important contributor to assigned team or sub-function and utilizes competencies in multiple areas (e.g., building trust, communicating, contributing to team success, decision making, managing work).
Partners with internal stakeholders and external vendors, when appropriate, to support areas of responsibility and priority projects.

Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in communications, media relations, journalism, public relations or related field.
Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates strong organizational and project management skills.
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Demonstrates familiarity with communication metrics and analytics tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, English, business or a related college major involving communications skills and critical thinking. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
Two (2) years of experience in communications, media relations, journalism, public relations or related field.
Experience in Healthcare communications
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors require the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
