At KDC/One, we are driven by excellence, innovation, and a commitment to delivering exceptional value to our clients.General DescriptionThe Maintenance Mechanic ensures high equipment reliability and line performance by executing setups/changeovers, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and small fabrications. Mechanics collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality to meet schedule, safety, and compliance requirements. This role is essential in maintaining uptime and supporting efficient, high-quality manufacturing across packaging and filling operations.Specific Responsibilities & DutiesSafety, Compliance & DocumentationPromote a safe work environment and follow all HSE, OSHA, LOTO, cGMP, and SOP requirements.Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas.Complete accurate documentation including changeover logs, cleaning/wash-out logs, maintenance/PM records, downtime reports, and other department forms.Report equipment issues, hazards, and abnormalities promptly to Maintenance or Production Management.Line Setup, Changeovers & Operations SupportSet up equipment for scheduled production runs.Perform efficient wash-outs, cleaning, sanitization, and line changeovers.Review and update setup sheets and follow production work orders.Partner with Line Leaders and operators to ensure smooth line performance and minimize downtime.Maintenance, Troubleshooting & RepairsPerform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on packaging and filling equipment.Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.Execute equipment repairs, adjustments, rebuilds, and system optimizations.Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and P&IDs to support troubleshooting and repair planning.Assist with parts ordering and maintaining critical spares inventory.Equipment & Systems InvolvedMechanics will work across a wide range of equipment including but not limited to:Rotary and inline liquid fillers (Pacific, Kalish, Simplex, MRM)Tube fillers (Norden)Bottle unscramblers (New England)Cappers (Resina, Pack West)Labelers (Accraply, Sherwood, Biner-Ellison)Inkjet coders (Videojet)Conveyors, motors, drives, pumps, mixers, hydraulic and pneumatic componentsShrink wrappers, case sealers, heat tunnels, cartoners, and auxiliary packaging systemsCollaboration & Continuous ImprovementSupport engineering trials, line qualifications, and process improvements.Recommend enhancements to equipment reliability, changeover efficiency, and safety.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support production demands.Mentor operators and peers on basic maintenance practices and equipment care.QualificationsWe are hiring four Mechanics and will consider experience across multiple levels. Title and pay level will align with demonstrated skills and prior experience.Required:3–12+ years of maintenance mechanic experience in cosmetics, personal care, food/beverage, pharma, or other regulated manufacturing.Prior experience maintaining packaging, filling, bottling, or similar high-speed manufacturing equipment.Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems.Proficiency using hand tools and power tools.Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and support production equipment.Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and basic technical documentation.Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Solid time-management, organization, and documentation skills.Preferred (for higher-level consideration):High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience with the equipment families listed above (fillers, cappers, tube fillers, labelers, coders, conveyors).Skills in machining, welding, fabricating, or equipment rebuilds.Technical coursework or certifications in mechanical, electrical, or machine-tool technology.Familiarity with CMMS/PM systems and strong computer literacy.Work EnvironmentProcess manufacturing environmentMay require working around forklifts and moving equipmentModerate noise and low to moderate lightingFast-paced, high-volume production settingKDC-ONE is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, age, sex, gender, disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
