Overview The Welder will operate TIG & MIG welding machines, including power‑up, cleaning, and finishing welds on various parts while maintaining cleanliness and safety. The position requires meeting productivity and quality requirements and performing welds in accordance with specifications. Shift: 1st shift Monday‑Friday. Pay: $20‑38.35, highly dependent on skill set and experience. Prior experience welding pressure devices (tanks, valves) is required. Primary Responsibilities Work safely following all established policies and procedures. Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions. Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials. Examine work pieces for defects and measure them with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. Read blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols. Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies before assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers. Report all non‑conforming material to the supervisor. Adhere to quality regulations, standards, and policies, including ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M‑1003, and follow work procedures to ensure the highest level of quality. Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commissioning. Perform housekeeping and 5S duties in assigned areas or project areas on a regular basis. Complete assigned work within the given timeframe and according to the specifications. Complete required paperwork relevant to the job. Perform other job responsibilities as assigned. Reorder raw material for Kanban safety stocks. Participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.). Qualifications / Requirements High school diploma, GED or equivalent. 2‑3 years of MIG/TIG welding experience. Experience welding for pressurized devices (tanks, valves). Experience welding Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Monel, Hastalloy B & C. Solid understanding of welding equipment and accessories. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols. Operate manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using established processes. Ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions Continuously standing, repetitive grasping, and fine manipulation with hands; walking, bending, squatting, twisting; pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds frequently and occasionally 50 pounds with assistance. Work environment is a shop: exposure to loud machinery, cold and hot temperatures, chemicals and vapors. Occasional work in an office environment.
