Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Cardiac IMCU/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Marquette, MI, requiring at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience and cardiac-specific skills.

Details

• Work on a 36-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit (Cardiac IMCU/PCU) within a 225-bed specialty care hospital
• Patient population includes cardiac, telemetry, trauma, and stepdown-level patients with diagnoses such as chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre- and post-open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular conditions, and CHF
• Patient ratios are 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Telemetry monitoring equipment is used on the unit
• EHR: Cerner
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• On-call may be required when census is low
• Floating is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
• Hands-on experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and cardiac stepdown care required
• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required at minimum
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidate's permanent address must be more than 60 miles from the facility
• Must not be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months

• Facility specializes in Heart & Vascular, Cancer Care, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
• Preferred experience includes PCU/stepdown patient populations and low-level ICU skills
• Blue or navy scrubs required; blue jeans are not permitted
