Program Analyst (Informatics) - Health Administration

Job TitleThe VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This is an approach to healthcare that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their lives to the fullest. As an employee operating in a Whole Health System of care, you will operate in a model with three core elements, seeking to create a personalized health plan for each Veteran. This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being.Duties include, but are not limited to:Program Management Provides communication channels to clinical and business teams to support deployment, sustainment, and optimization efforts; includes communication among all stakeholders through each level of the organization, to facilitate and support change.Partnership Management Cultivates a healthy working relationship between the Offices of Information & Technology (OIT) and Health Informatics, allowing for routine dialog to enable the sustainment and optimization of our health information technology (IT) solutions and workflows, for the benefit of all staff and Veterans. Coordinate use of subject matter experts to support decision-making among informatics functions to optimize the healthcare system and the tools that support the business. Cultivates a healthy collaboration between enterprise and facility level clinical/ biomedical engineering staff and health informatics, ensuring that patient care technology is effectively and efficiently integrated into the clinical process.Data and Content Management Evaluates content quality and assures access to knowledge resources, eliminating redundancy in duplicate data sources, and improving information interoperability across the organization. Develop reports and information tools using a variety of methods and tools.Application Support Enables healthcare capabilities and the evolution of technology adjoined to the electronic health record (EHR) to deliver quality care in the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitor by developing, implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing informatics tools and access to them.Business Architecture Management Supports the analysis of a workflow to consider opportunities for the potential improvement or optimization of the behavior of people, systems, information, and tools. Workflow analysis is necessary to understand the change from the current (as-is) state to a future (to-­be) state. Workflow analysis addresses the "how" of a process.Health Information Technology (HIT) System Optimization Ensures the VHA EHR operates in a way that improves patient care, ensures patient safety, and meets the needs of providers through continuous evaluation, testing, and improvement of the system.Requirements Management Documents, prioritizes, and recognizes requirements for the improvement of the EHR and other systems in collaboration with the end-user. Business needs are identified, support is provided by identifying proper subject matter experts (SME), and there is participation in requirements elicitation activities.Education and Change Management Performs support work in activities that support the management and delivery of educational experiences using information solutions and technology in all areas of healthcare. Utilizes innovative practice patterns and specializations to continuously develop the informatics role and associated competencies, aligning it with the strategic needs of the organization. Provides support to higher level analyst in formal and informal education and in-services to facility staff as required to facilitate program success. Maintains professional relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and others in the organization. Demonstrates appropriate and proactive interpersonal skills to achieve the goals of the service.
