Senior Test EngineerAs a Senior Test Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering quality assurance services to support application, cloud, and data systems development within an AI-enabled software development environment. We are looking for candidates with 5-7 years experience with experience with quality assurance and test automation practices in an Agile/DevSecOps work environment. Contributions Responsibilities include:Understand the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developersMeet with product design team to determine testing parametersWrite test plans, create test cases, test procedures, bug reports, final QA reports for productsManage test data architecture definition and requestsTroubleshoot errors and streamline the test proceduresTest and examine code written by others and analyze results, including three or more of the following:Data validation testingFunctional testingPerformance and load testingUsability testingAccessibility (508) testingEstablish automated testing tools and infrastructure for test automationProvide validation testing of different system and data sets for cloud migrationsDevelop automated testing scripts considering parallelization and idempotencyAutomate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processesEnsure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsWork with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intendedDocument as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsLeverage virtualization and containerization to optimize testing software systemsWork with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and toolsEngineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedPresent regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevOps team membersAct as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team membersQualifications Required:Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceBachelor's Degree and 8+ years total experience5+ years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket5+ years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages5+ years of application DevSecOps experience with development experience in an Agile environmentExperience developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes5+ years of experience implementing test automation, using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Soap UI, RestAssured, Postman3+ years of experience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD pipelines3+ years of experience with performance and load testingPreferred:Certifications:CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing)International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) CertificationCertified Manager of Software Testing (CMST)DHS Trusted Tester Certification (TTv5)Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools and machine learning-based code generation platforms to accelerate secure software delivery pipelines across cloud-native environmentsProven ability to integrate AI-powered code generation and testing tools into software delivery workflows, mentoring teams on improving productivity and code quality using emerging AI technologiesExperience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal and collaborative skillsAbout Steampunk Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $160,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
