Position Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Operations Specialist is an experienced, hands-on manufacturing position responsible for supporting multiple production processes within Tempe Manufacturing. This position reports to the Sr. Production Manager, works a 10-hour shift, and requires 5-10 years of manufacturing experience, with semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred.

The role combines advanced manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, testing, inspection, production documentation, cross-functional float coverage, quality support, and employee training. The employee will remain actively involved in production while becoming cross-trained across multiple manufacturing areas and progressively taking on greater operational responsibility.

As proficiency is demonstrated, the employee may assist with employee training, workflow coordination, production priorities, troubleshooting routine manufacturing issues, and supporting the Sr. Production Manager and Team Leads. This is a non-exempt developmental position and does not initially include formal supervisory authority.

Minimum Qualifications

·  High school diploma or GED required.

·  Minimum 5-10 years of manufacturing experience required.

·  Semiconductor, electronics, electronic components, or precision manufacturing experience preferred.

·  Electro-mechanical assembly and testing experience preferred.

·  Previous experience training, mentoring, or cross-training manufacturing employees preferred.

·  Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment.

·  Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, drawings, specifications, and production documentation.

·  Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

·  Ability to work independently and across multiple production areas.

·  Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to perform detailed visual inspection.

Essential Functions

1. Perform electro-mechanical assembly and manufacturing operations in accordance with approved work instructions and specifications.

2. Prepare, assemble, test, inspect, and package components, subassemblies, and finished products.

3. Set up and operate applicable electrical, mechanical, and computerized test equipment.

4. Operate ovens, thermal-processing equipment, solder-dip equipment, welding equipment, laser-marking equipment, and other assigned production equipment.

5. Mix and apply epoxy and other approved production materials in accordance with established procedures.

6. Clean and prepare components using isopropyl alcohol and other approved methods.

7. Inspect parts and assemblies using microscopes, magnification equipment, gauges, and other applicable inspection tools.

8. Set up, operate, monitor, load, and unload mold press equipment in accordance with approved manufacturing and safety procedures.

9. Inspect molded components for defects, process deviations, or other indications of nonconformance.

10. Perform routine operator-level equipment checks and promptly report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions.

11. Serve as a cross-functional production resource and provide coverage across manufacturing areas based on staffing, workload, absences, and production priorities.

12. Become trained and certified in multiple manufacturing processes and work centers.

13. Maintain accurate production, inspection, testing, and traceability documentation.

14. Follow all applicable Quality Management System requirements, work instructions, inspection standards, and product specifications.

15. Identify, segregate, and appropriately escalate suspected nonconforming or questionable product.

16. Stop processing and seek direction when a product, process, specification, or instruction is unclear or inconsistent.

17. Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, Hazard Communication procedures, equipment safety requirements, and housekeeping standards.

18. Assist with training and cross-training Manufacturing Operators after demonstrating competency in the applicable process.

19. Provide technical guidance to less-experienced employees on processes for which the employee is trained and qualified.

20. Assist the Sr. Production Manager and Team Leads with communicating daily and weekly production priorities.

21. Help identify workflow issues, bottlenecks, equipment concerns, training deficiencies, and opportunities for improved production efficiency.

22. Communicate production, quality, safety, staffing, and equipment concerns to the appropriate Team Lead or Sr. Production Manager.

23. Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, accountability, sound judgment, and readiness for increasing responsibility.

24. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and business needs.

Physical Requirements

·  Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, including materials and items associated with mold press operations.

·  Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods throughout a 10-hour shift.

·  Ability to walk, bend, reach, grasp, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.

·  Ability to safely handle materials, tooling, components, and production equipment.

·  Ability to perform precision work requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and detailed visual inspection.

·  Ability to safely work around mold presses, ovens, manufacturing equipment, and production chemicals.

Training & Development

The Senior Manufacturing Operations Specialist is expected to achieve a broader level of cross-training than a standard Manufacturing Operator. Required training may include assembly, product testing, mold press operation, solder-dip, epoxy, thermal processes, welding, laser marking, microscope inspection, Quality procedures, production documentation, packaging, and applicable manufacturing equipment.

The employee will progressively develop greater operational responsibility by demonstrating technical competency, quality performance, safety awareness, reliability, communication skills, ability to train others, sound judgment, and the ability to support production priorities. This developmental position does not guarantee promotion or advancement. Any future change in responsibility or position will be based on demonstrated performance, qualifications, organizational needs, and management approval.
