The Manufacturing Engineer will support prototype development and early-stage production builds, with a strong focus on assembling, testing, and troubleshooting products on the shop floor. This role partners closely with design, production, quality, and supplier teams to improve manufacturability, develop robust processes and tooling, resolve build issues, and create clear documentation that enables efficient, high-quality production of complex mechanical and electromechanical products.

Responsibilities

• Support prototype development and early-stage production builds, ensuring products are assembled, tested, and validated according to specifications.

• Work hands-on on the shop floor to assemble, test, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electromechanical products.

• Collaborate closely with design, production, quality, and supplier teams to improve manufacturability and streamline build processes.

• Develop, design, and refine assembly jigs, fixtures, and production tooling to support reliable and repeatable manufacturing.

• Analyze product designs using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD and provide feedback to enhance manufacturability and ease of assembly.

• Create clear, detailed technical documentation, including work instructions and build procedures, to support efficient and consistent production.

• Identify build issues and root causes, and implement practical solutions to improve product quality and reduce defects.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, process optimization, and productivity gains using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

• Partner with quality teams to ensure that manufacturing processes meet regulatory and industry standards typical of regulated environments such as medical devices or aerospace.

• Support the transition from prototype to scaled production by refining processes, tooling, and documentation as volumes increase.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing and building complex mechanical or electromechanical products in a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, or similar.

• Proven experience designing and building assembly jigs, fixtures, and production tooling for manufacturing environments.

• Strong manufacturing engineering background with direct involvement in shop floor activities, including assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD for analyzing and developing mechanical models and drawings.

• Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement and waste reduction, specifically leveraging lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

• Ability to create precise, user-friendly technical documentation and work instructions that support consistent, high-quality production.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve build and process issues quickly and effectively.

• Effective collaboration skills for working with design, production, quality, and supplier teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in highly regulated environments such as medical device or aerospace manufacturing.

• background in tooling design, including jigs and fixtures that improve safety, quality, and throughput.

• Familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks and structured problem-solving techniques.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and translate them into practical manufacturing processes.

• Comfort with hands-on work on the shop floor, engaging directly with production teams to refine processes and resolve issues.

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in a manufacturing and shop-floor environment, working closely with production teams and engineering staff to build and refine complex mechanical and electromechanical products. You will regularly use engineering software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD alongside standard manufacturing tools, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment. The position involves hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities and requires attention to detail and adherence to established processes and documentation. The work setting emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and high-quality output within the context of a regulated industry.

This is a Permanent position based out of Horsham, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
