Labor and Delivery RN

Mercy is seeking a compassionate Labor and Delivery RN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide expert, family-centered care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Responsibilities include maternal-fetal assessment, medication and IV administration, fetal monitoring, assisting with deliveries and emergencies, and patient education. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients Continuously assess maternal‑fetal status and respond to complications Administer medications, IV therapies, and epidural support per protocols Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and surgical procedures Stabilize and support newborns immediately after birth Educate and support patients and families on birth, recovery, and newborn care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation and follow safety standards Participate in unit quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and drills Support Mercy’s culture of compassion, diversity, and professional growth Intrapartum nursing care Fetal heart monitoring Neonatal resuscitation Maternal assessment and triage IV medication administration Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Postpartum recovery care OB emergency response (e.g., PPH, preeclampsia) Patient and family education Infection control and aseptic technique Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Qualifications Active RN license in state of practice BLS (Basic Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) ACLS preferred Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred Fetal heart monitoring certification preferred Previous L&D or OB clinical experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
