Licensed Clinical Social Worker

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is responsible for supervising clients ordered to the Department of Human Services for conditional release monitoring and ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions. Duties include conducting regular meetings with clients, treatment providers, and family members; attending court hearings related to conditional release; completing routine and incident documentation; and coordinating with community providers to maintain appropriate placement and continuity of care. The position requires a clinical license to assess risk, evaluate client stability, and support informed decision-making regarding public safety and client treatment needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW).
• Knowledge of conditional release statutes, probate court procedures, and applicable state and federal laws governing forensic behavioral health services.
• Experience working with the court system, including preparing court reports and legal documentation, providing sworn testimony, and collaborating with judges, attorneys, and other legal stakeholders.
• Experience providing direct services to individuals with serious mental illness who have involvement in the criminal justice system.
• Knowledge of forensic behavioral health systems, community mental health services, and the continuum of care for justice-involved individuals.
• Proficiency in the Quickbase data management system and experience maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential documentation.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, including the ability to assess behavioral health needs, evaluate dynamic and static risk factors, and develop risk management strategies to support community safety and client stability.
• Ability to coordinate services with treatment providers, community partners, family members, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions and appropriate placement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and effectively communicate clinical information in legal and multidisciplinary settings.
• Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize competing responsibilities, and respond effectively to emergent situations.
• Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment, maintain professional boundaries, and make independent decisions in complex and high-risk situations.

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provides clinical mental health services including psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, and case management to individuals in state-operated facilities or service programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and discharge plans.
• Deliver crisis intervention services and make appropriate referrals as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including medical providers, case managers, probation officers, or educators.
• Coordinate referrals to community resources, including outpatient services, housing support, and financial aid.
• May participate in discharge planning and establishing continuity of care with clients.
• Participate in case conferences, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies to ensure continuity of care.
• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and state guidelines.
• May be required to pursue ongoing continuing education and training in order to renew licensing every two years.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of clinical mental health principles, social work theories and practices, and crisis intervention techniques.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the NASW Code of Ethics.
• Ability to conduct clinical assessments, keep accurate and detailed records, and manage disputes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities, develop and coordinate individualized service plans for case records, and make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
• Ability to provide clinical consultation and/or clinical supervision to subordinate staff.
• Skilled in time management, organization, and problem solving.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in social work and at least three years of experience in mental health clinics, corrections, child welfare, or a related field.
• Licensure/Certifications Must be a Licensed Certified Social Worker in the State of Arkansas.
• Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.
