Associate Vice Chancellor, Facilities, Risk Management, & Operations Location: District Job Overview Under the guidance of the Executive Operations Officer, this role provides strategic leadership for the District’s Safety, Construction, and Facilities functions, supporting the San Diego Community College District’s commitment to maintaining safe, efficient, and high‑quality environments for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include: Overseeing district‑wide facilities services, capital improvement and construction programs, maintenance and operations, and safety programs. Providing enterprise services that enhance daily operations of the District and its colleges. Collaborating with campus leadership, district departments, and external agencies to plan, develop, and maintain facilities and operational services aligned with institutional priorities and regulatory requirements. Guiding major construction and renovation projects, ensuring effective facilities maintenance and operations, and administering safety programs. Promoting innovation, continuous improvement, and inclusive leadership to support the District’s educational mission, sustainability, and strategic goals. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in construction management, facilities services, risk management, or related field. Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in construction management, facilities planning and management, or related field; preferably in California public education sector. Six to eight years of progressively responsible and varied experience in a field associated with or utilizing risk management, preferably employee insurance programs. Foreign Degree Evaluation Applicants with foreign degrees must have coursework evaluated by a NACES or ACEI member; submit evaluation with application.
