The ReStore Donation Handler is responsible for taking donations from donors and placing in warehouse. They will test, clean, and help maintain warehouse and store items. Reporting to the ReStore Manager, the Donation Handler works with other staff members to ensure the warehouse and ReStore operates efficiently.

Duties

• Customer Service, Customer Service, Customer Service
• Greet donors and assist them with loading and unloading
• Issue donation receipts
• Assist buyers with loading their purchases
• Clean all furniture that is donated
• Ensure that furniture hits the sales floor in a timely fashion
• Keep the drop-off area and warehouse clean, safe, and organized
• Keep aisles clear and safe
• Help keep shelves stocked and organized
• Test all Electrical merchandise
• Test all dishwashers, washer machines and refrigerators
• Any other assignment deemed necessary by ReStore management.

Requir e m e n t s

• Be committed to the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s mission
• Experience moving furniture helpful, but not required
• Must be able to lift 75+ lbs., stand, squat, bend, and climb on a consistent basis
• Must be High School graduate or higher.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with other staff and volunteers
• Ability to pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening test
