Job Purpose The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom, warehouse, or yard. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory. Count and reconcile randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis. Accurately input inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity. Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time. Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager. Spend 80% or more of the workday performing inventory related activities in the warehouse using an RF Gun or Tablet; 20% or less of the workday is spent working at a computer terminal. Clerks are required to travel to and assist at other facilities as needed. Must have reliable transportation. Additional Responsibilities Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ensure compliance to inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets. Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control. Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment. Experience operating power equipment such as Reach Truck, EPJ or cherry picker/order picker. Experience using WMS software is a plus (Synapse preferred). PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database. Education and/or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Read and write emails. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets. Forklift certification is a plus. Language Skills Sets Communicate, read, write and speak English effectively. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers. Mathematical Skills Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Determine "root cause" of a problem and determine corrective action. Computer Skills Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and creating reports. Physical Demands Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Speak comfortably in front of others. Talk, hear, stand and walk frequently. Work over continuous 8 hours when required. Handle stressful situations, maintain work accuracy, and concentrate on more than one task at a time. Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision. Speak and communicate clearly over telephones. Maintain sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances. Work Environment While performing duties, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
