Neurology / Stroke Acute Care Nurse Practitioner- MedStar Health

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center (MFSMC), a member of MedStar Health, is seeking an experienced nurse practitioner to join their multidisciplinary team focused on state-of-the-art stroke management. The ideal candidate will preferably have at least two years of tertiary-level inpatient experience, neurology, neurosurgery, or stroke-related experience. In this role, the NP will be a first responder for stroke patients presenting to the emergency department. S/he will perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, initiate acute TPA orders and diagnostic imaging studies, and will further develop diagnostic treatment plans in collaboration with the attending neurovascular interventionalists, stroke neurologists, and neurocritical care specialists. In addition, the incumbent may assist with patient management in the interventional suite. As an integral member of the team, the NP will have a keen interest in the continued growth and expansion of the neurovascular intervention program as MFSMC is a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
