Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will perform tissue processing, embedding, staining, and microscopic examination to support diagnostic and research activities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process tissue specimens using automated equipment and manual techniques.
- Operate and maintain tissue processors, microtomes, cryostats, and staining machines to ensure high-quality specimen preparation.
- Follow established laboratory protocols and safety procedures in all tasks.
- Document procedures, sample data, and results accurately using LIS and HIS systems.
- Assist with quality control and troubleshooting of histology instrumentation and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Hold a BLS certification and possess less than 1 year of relevant experience.
- Be registry-eligible or certified as a Histology Technician through the ASCP or equivalent credential.
- Demonstrate experience with LIS and HIS computer systems.
- Have knowledge of laboratory equipment including tissue processors, microtomes, and stainers.
- Possess the physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform manual tasks.
