• Submit processed applications for approval. Follow up with applicant regarding status.
• Secure new member's signature(s) on appropriate paperwork prior to move-in.
• Completes all work according to established CSI Support & Development procedures.
• Helping prospective resident members with the application process by explaining what they need to sign in the application form; this also involves answering whatever questions they may have regarding the forms they need to fill out. (Doing this helps make sure that all forms have been properly filled out)
• Performing credit and criminal background checks on prospective tenants. This task also involves informing a potential resident member that their application has been denied.
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
• Assist management team with other various tasks as required.

• Discretion: The Leasing department often deals with confidential information. A successful Leasing Specialist must comply with confidentiality demands.
  Communication skills: Leasing Specialist must be good listeners and be able to communicate the needs and expectations of both the company, its employees, and members.
• Interpersonal skills: Someone in this position has constant interaction with company employees and members and must be able to maintain a positive demeanor throughout even the most difficult situations.
• Computer skills: Leasing Specialist must be able to effectively work with company's software systems.

Work environment

Leasing Specialists generally work in an office environment.

Physical demands

This position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and significant amount of time on the phone.

• Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 30 pounds.

Travel required

May need to travel to co-ops on occasion.

Required education and experience

• High School diploma or suitable alternative.
• No previous experience required
• Reliable transportation to and from work site.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong people skills.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulation requires all employees-citizens, residents, and nonresidents-to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. Employees are not allowed to work in the United States until the Form I-9 is completed and properly documented.
