Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected and growing East Bay organization to hire a Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Concord, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong foundational accounting skills who is looking to expand their experience in a collaborative environment that values accuracy, accountability, and professional development. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced finance leaders while gaining exposure to general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. What You'll Do Prepare and post journal entries Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures Support financial statement preparation and reporting activities Analyze transactions and investigate discrepancies Maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation Assist with audit requests and compliance-related activities Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy Collaborate with operations and department leaders on accounting matters What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of accounting experience Knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations Understanding of GAAP principles Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis Experience with ERP or accounting software preferred Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Why You'll Love This Opportunity Stable and growing organization Collaborative and supportive leadership team Opportunity to broaden your accounting experience Exposure to a variety of accounting functions and projects Professional growth and advancement potential Positive, team-oriented culture The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually . Compensation is determined based on several factors, including experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
