Position Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment using test instruments like handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make independent judgments. Manage parts inventory and company‑issued service truck equipment, performing periodic reconciliations. Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections. Listen effectively to clients and customers, assess their needs, provide information or assistance, and satisfy expectations. Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time efficiently. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work according to company standards and upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using the proprietary TRAIT application on an iOS device. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly. Work independently and manage daily schedule. Maintain high productivity and meet most standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed. Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve PO numbers, and discuss RO findings. Perform work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Maintain the service truck and conduct daily safety inspections. Requirements High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of related experience. Alternative combinations include a higher degree with 3 years of experience or 7 years of experience. Must possess a set of hand tools necessary for the job. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Obtain ASE 608/609 certification within 18 months. Must pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical. Maintain a current DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining, or complete a DOT physical if less than 4 months remain. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating regulations. Valid driver’s license required; hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File. Compensation Hourly pay range: $32.26 to $48.41. Base rate may vary. Additional compensation may include commission or incentive programs.
