Requirements for an LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Ohio and NAPNES certified Experience in Assisted Living preferred. Must have good clinical skills and be self-directed and conscientious. Must relate well to residents and staff. Responsibilities for an LPN: Supervise and evaluate all care and activities provided and initiate corrective action as appropriate. Communicates staff observations to nursing supervisor. Identify special nursing problems and emergency situations quickly and initiate immediate "lifesaving" measures in the absence of a physician. Administer medications and treatments per physician's order and accurately record medications and treatments as administered. Document resident care provided and resident's response or lack of response to treatment provided following proper documentation procedures; notes are complete, accurate, and written legibly; charts weekly wound descriptions, incidental notes, monthly summaries, 24-hour notes.
