Job TitleElectrical EngineerJob DescriptionThe Electrical Engineer will assist with the design and release of electrical parts and assemblies on High Density Liquid Cooling units. This Electrical Engineer will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities as required in this dynamic environment to solve complex problems where no precedence exists.This position will be onsite at Vertiv's 460 Polaris Pkwy office location.ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical systems for Liquid Cooling Systems including Two-Phase and Single-Phase Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)Size and select electrical components based on offering and system requirementsCreate unit wiring schematics and network connection drawingsCreate electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standardsCreate wire harnesses including wire sizing, appropriate terminal connections and necessary routingCreate drawings and bills of materialsParticipate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changesImplement product changes to solve field issues and support the service departmentRequirementsBachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or universityMinimum 1-5 years of experience in an electrical engineering field in product development roleAbility to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticismAbility to take direction and guidance from senior engineersHistory of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development processExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greaterKnowledge of NEC (NFPA79), UL 508A/SB and/or UL Standards for HVAC systemsPreferred QualificationsPreferred 2-4 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field.Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production rolesKnowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA/UL standardsUnderstanding electrical schematic layout and creationExperience with communication and interconnect standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and EthernetTravel Time Required = up to 10%The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.OUR CORE PRINCIPLES: Safety.
